Conferences

This section is dedicated to some of the many public math conferences (with a registration fee) that are designed for the encouragement and enhancement of intentional research that serves the purpose of elevating more than just our science, but also our humanity.

Non-Profit and Professional Organizations

This section is meant to showcase some of the many organizations that can offer support and project the next stage(s) of your (professional and personal)  journey as a Mathematician. While there are many, this is a list of my favorite organizations of which I've had a personal connection with over the years.

Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE)

The EDGE Program is an organization which specializes in building community amongst all women and nonbinary mathematicians. Whether you are starting your PhD, just finished your prelims/comps/quals, or have earned your doctorate and want to give back, there's a place for you!  EDGE is the safest space I've ever felt in the mathematics community. EDGE is an organization directed, mentored, and taught exclusively by women who simply want to help you learn and offer the support not often found in larger mathematical and statistical spaces. I am truly blessed to be a part of this incredible sisterhood! Click here for more information.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

There exist a few organizations and conferences that support Chicano/Hispanic and Native American scientists with SACNAS being one of the largest to date. It is an annual conference that brings people together to share their work, build community, and support each other in math and STEM while honoring the heritage of Indigenous People and Latin -Americans. The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) also supports Indigenous students and professionals in STEM so collaboration across disciplines may be more likely at these conferences than others. Please note that you do not have to identify as a member of either community to respectfully join their organizations(s) and/or attend their conferences.

General Math

The American Mathematical Society (AMS), The Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), like those listed in the middle panel, are additional professional organizations which offer undergraduate and graduate support through travel funding, registration discounts, and cheaper student membership fees. The AMS, in particular, hosts the largest mathematics conference in the country: the Joint Mathematics Meetings (JMM). Networking at any of these conferences could spark a change that could lands your next career position so take advantage!

Prominent Mathematical Sciences Research Institutes

Here is a list of the prominent Mathematical Sciences Institutes in America that offer enriching and life-changing opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, post-doc, and faculty members.
